First, I would like to thank everyone who ran for office for their interest in helping the club continue to function and thrive. I appreciate that you all ran clean campaigns, and I want to thank all of the members and non-members alike for conducting themselves in a positive manner. This is the first “friendly” election I can recall witnessing since becoming a member almost 7 years ago, and the first in a while that I didn’t feel the need to post “c’mon, be nice” messages.

To the winners, congratulations on your victory, and I look forward to working with you this next year. To those for whom the race did not go their way, please throw your hat in the ring again next year. I’m going to encourage all board members and chairs to find and train their own replacements to better assure continuity and consistency in club operations, so keep your eyes peeled for announcements to that effect. You can still pitch in in a very meaningful way.

Lastly, and most importantly, I want give a huge thank you to Jim Follis. As the longest tenured board member we had this year, his historical perspective and cautionary counsel proved to be very valuable throughout the year. His passion for the club and its traditions is undeniable and I am glad that he will continue to be involved in club operations as he serves on the MoGH Board, the exhibits chair, and other capacities.
