Las Vegas day 36
Las Vegas day 36
() I remember playing the the Bally electro-mechanical
slots at McLaney’s Carousel when I first moved to
Las Vegas in 1967. Like Honest John’s, each machine
had a large revolving red light that would light up
when a jackpot, usually one dollar, was hit reflecting
off metallic streamers hanging from the ceiling. Loud
bells and coins banging into metal bowls added to the
mix. There was a quarter crap game with well used
purple chips and a Baccarat game that used real one
dollar bills. There was a greasy spoon snack bar and
paintings of clowns by famous artist Michelle on the walls.
