This year was the first time since 2018 that I have driven cross country to the CCA Convention. From 2001 thru 2018 I made the annual trek to the Convention for 18 straight years.
I traveled from Millsboro, Delaware to Las Vegas with my oldest Grandson Ian. I spent 7 days in Vegas and returned home with my Son Darrell. We went thru 23 states and traveled 6560 miles in 24 days. The mileage on my 2007 Town & Country van went from 256,463 miles to 262,512 during the trip. I left home on Thursday May 29th and returned home on Saturday June 21st.
A map of the trip is shown below. Also shown are GPSs (Gas Pump Inspection Stickers) that I picked up along the way. These are some really neat ones and new additions to my collection. I especially like the new Texas sticker and my Grandson and I also got an unusual "stack" of 4 different years of stickers from a single pump in Indiana. In Kansas as I was peeling off a sticker from a pump when I was filling up the van with gas - my Grandson Ian noticed that a state employee was actually testing and putting new inspection stickers on a pump near us as I was peeling the sticker off my pump. I finished "pumping and peeling" got in the van and drove on down the road. This is the first time I had ever encountered a person putting stickers on as I was peeling them off !!
I know some of you think I am crazy but "harvesting" the stickers has been a fun diversion and a unique way to document all of my many, many cross country trips.
I will post a more detailed account of my trip in the near future.
Take care,
Jerry
