“Swede” Anderson was the guy who had the gambling at the
Frontier Tavern. I met him once at the Austin Hotel where he was
living in the 70s. We talked at the bar and he went up to his
room and got me some of his chips. He also showed me a Frontier
Tavern trade token which he kept. I was disappointed the chips
didn’t say Austin but was glad to get them. I used to stop in the
place but the gambling was long gone.
