Mark Freitag is a heavy hitter in his...

generous donations to the Club and the Club's MoGH. On the personal side, Mark is also a very nice guy and highly knowledgeable about this hobby we all love. It is disappointing to me that Mark found it necessary to come here to ask about his past donation, but I have the so called, rest of the story.

Following last year's Convention, I sent an email to CCA President David Spragg, the following message on June 29, 2023:

"You may recall that a few miscellaneous boxes came to the Convention [floor] from the CCA storage unit in error. The old membership laptop, [a box of] bank account listings, and a mystery box (USPS Priority medium) of chips. The box of chips were tracked to Mark Freitag.

He [Mark] said he donated them several years ago. Question is, did you do a donation letter?

If not, I will. If he had conditions then, his conditions are now that they go to MoGH and some can be used for selling to raise funds.

What to do?... LMK"

David responded in a reply within 4 minutes of my email, as follows:

"Yes, he had a donation letter. At that time they were specifically for 'attracting' new members and were given to Roy.
Roy could never find a way to use them for membership so I guess they got [put] in the storage unit and forgotten about."

David then forwarded me copies of the Donation Letters pertaining to this donation. As I told David, in a follow-on email, I would print the Donation Letters and place the copies within the box and place the box into the MoGH's air-cooled storage unit. The donation currently resides there, safe and secure. In fact, James Hogg has seen a portion of the donation and can bear witness to it's existence and security.

Mark Freitag is once again to be thanked for all of his generous donations, 2 of which were made previous to this donation and documented to Mark with Donation Letters and images from me, as well as being documented across several issues of the CCA Newsletter for the viewership of the CCA Members and others. While I was not a part of the original issue, I am pleased to be a part of the solution and I express my apologies to Mark for having to get engaged with this situation and hope for his continued support of the CCA and the CCA's MoGH.

Respectfully submitted,

Jim Follis
CCA Vice President
MoGH Vice Chairman
