For 90% of the club, it doesn't matter...

The idea that negativity is keeping away votes is nonsense. Yes, maybe a few, but its not like if everybody got along that everyone would vote.

Let's face it, the people who actually care about who is on the Board is very small. Most people just want to collect chips, get their magazine and maybe go to the annual show. They don't know what the Board does, nor do they care who is sitting there.

Do we want these people to vote, absolutely NOT. If only 10% of the membership cares, then only 10% of the membership should vote. Sticking a ballot in everyone's hand and forcing them to vote would give results no better than a coin flip.

I've also heard the argument for making it easier with online or in-person voting. In my opinion, if you aren't going to go through the effort to address an envelope and put a stamp on it, you obviously don't care enough and probably should sit this one out.

Personally, I'm waiting to see who Taylor Swift endorses, but I will most certainly be one of the few ballots in the box at the deadline.
