Santa Claran Casino
Not as good as it could be, not as new or well appointed as some of the others. But for Espanola, a Stone Cold Palace. Still it's a nice casino. $5 BJ. Won a few hands and a couple of the sucker bets on the side. Had $61 in chips when getting up from the table for my $50 buy in.
Gotta do it. Not really OK!
Now a slot house. Place has obviously been slipping for a while. Just outside Espanola, but there was still a guy in the parking lot holding jumper cables attached to the battery of a car that made my truck look like a new stretch Limo. I stopped and gave him the jump.
The programming on their $10 free slot play is not well explained. Had to go back twice to the slot club to get it figured out. Not exactly my first time at doing this... Was it me or their system, Hmmm?
Go to the kiosk to activate the $10 free play. But the kiosk doesn't say anything about giving you free play. Club lady explains that it was put on as soon as I swiped the card. Well, have the kiosk screen say that...
Slot machine wouldn't take my $1 bil to activate the credit. Checked, yes it takes ones, Got another one$ out of my pocket, still won't eat it. Went to another machine, same thing. Well, it took the cash but wouldn't activate the credit. Slot club lady walked with me to a machine. She showed me, did it for me, to get the machine to give up with the credit, but it was't how the instruction card said to do it...
Anyway, I cashed out $7 on a 5 cent vid poker machine for my activating $1 and the free play.
They didn't have many vid poker machines and half the ones were out of service.
I think the tribal council needs to recognize once your place has run down to the point of taking out the table games then you really need to catch up on reinvesting some profits to bring the place back up to a decent standard, instead of just waiting for it to die off completely. Look to the Tesuque closing Camel Rock after opening the new Tesuque casino.
