Re: Survivors NCR
In Response To: Survivors NCR ()

Pocket change and old bills are fun. I don't know how it happened, but I picked up a penny off the floor in a bar and it was a Wheat Cent. Not like getting one in change, which is also unusual. I'd say, I found 4 or less wheat cents each year, in recent years.

Yes, I assume that kids steal coin collections and spend them, which throws these into circulation, until one of us looks closer and it goes into our old coin jar or somewhere "safe". I bought some nickle collections (I collected nickels because I could get the from slot machines, cheap fun) No more coins... but back to the point, I look at them, I've pulled out the best. I've filled my own second book up until recent designs. The though was, just spend them and someone can get some nice 1930s and 1940s nearly Unc. Jeffersons in their change?

No dealers want them for anything over face.

Still looking for: 2019-W America the Beautiful quarters which were sent to the U.S. Mints in Philadelphia and Denver, to be mixed in with the regular ATB quarter output.

Watch for those in pocket change.
