Re: Sounds like sun damage
In Response To: Re: Sounds like sun damage ()

I like your email!

1. the hole is exactly 5/32 and its not getting any bigger; I'd expose it to sun flares before I'd drill it larger.

2. the edge of the chip has crisp and I mean CRISP separation between the two colors the entire way around the chip and is extremely uniform to almost 50-50 the whole way around. As GOD would say; I don't fade in straight lines... I fade in wavy lines. UNLESS the light source was directly 90 degrees to the surface of the chip 100% of the time of course.

3. on the tan side were the inlay seems faded (i think its just poor printing); because the tan and black inserts on the chip are crisp again. colors have different wavelengths and react differently when exposed to white light. If you look closely to Mr. Jimmy you see that the black on his tiny body has a different fade; (again I believe poor printing and not fading; if fading occurred it should be uniform).

4. As for the green side; if it is faded; that perky little inlay is as crisp and colorful as a new penny; again GOD doesn't fade in straight lines. ALL fading is directly proportional to the wavelengths of the colors exposed even if that fading would show shading differences between the colors. (I'm starting to sound like Sheldon Cooper from the Big Band show).

5. Although the hole shows tan the whole way through (that IS quite interesting; I'll admit); if you look at the edge were the hole brakes through to the green; the tan is on the green side around the edge of the whole. I don't have to bring up GOD again; do I? And no the sun, light, fluorescent, laser light cannot bend around 90 degree corners; that would go against the laws of physics; when you sunburn on one side; the sunburn doesn't creep around to your other side unless your flipping yourself like a egg; Again I am sounding like Sheldon!

6. One other thing to point out; the green side has a small chip at the edge and its green to the bottom of the chip except and I mean except for a small dot of tan at the very bottom of the chip. Get your magnifying glasses out; its there; just like a sun spot on that fireball in the sky. And yes again; GOD and nature do not fade differently if the chip was exposed to white light at 90 degrees causing two different colors but not different shading.

7. And to close, I think this chip is two toned; has poor printing; and tan cannot change to green (Cardinal colors apply here; green cannot fade to tan (again Cooper physics) because the color frequencies of green and tan (i.e. brown...brown is not cardinal...its a mix of colors) are separated in color spectrum and don't mix like green and yellow; red and purple or wolverines and mallard ducks. So to all you casino chip collectors; thanks for your inputs and eat your hearts out; this chip isn't a manufactures sample...its a manufacturers boo boo and thus making it an error chip deserving of a 5/32 drilled hole from the manufacturer and never to see a table game or a casino but instead be in my collection until someone offers me about a bazillion dollars. Also anyone out there with another chip like this one; keep it to yourself; you'll break my heart if I don't have the only one on earth!
