~~~ published it will remain the property of ChipGuide and that IMAGE is no longer the property of whomever submitted if.
No, I don't think so? The owner of the original image, retains all rights, from the time they created the image.
Anyone who donates an image, retains all rights to their image, and also owns any future use by anyone else. (Including allowing their own use) No one transferred ownership.
MoGH or whoever actually runs TCG only has permission for USE. Nothing more.
But the sticky point is, anyone who comes to TCG can't just right click, copy, and save the image and use it for their own, because TCG has the responsibility to protect the images that are displayed on the website. Also they own the right to their own website and the contents are protected. By law, no one can use any image on TCG without permission. TCG appears to allow re-use as long as credit is given.
Without the legal protection for the website and the contents and I mean that includes individual images... anything on the Internet is free to use, because it's not protected, and that's not true.
TCG is protected, and use of anything can be restricted. The individual original owner retains all right for their image forever.
"70 years after the death of author. If a work of corporate authorship, 95 years from publication or 120 years from creation, whichever expires first"
