One small clue that a pre-1980 date is possible...

When i was researching the origins of the ROULETTE mold last year, i asked David Spragg some questions about it.

He mentioned that when Classic Poker Chips acquired the assets of ASM, it included not just the BURT/ASM ROULETTE mold, currently listed on the Classic Poker Chips website, but also included a couple of Paul-Son ROULETTE mold cups.

That surprised me because the Burt order cards seem to indicate that Paulson by 1979 had fully moved the manufacturing of chips away from Burt and to their own production facility.

If there are Burt produced Paulson ROULETTE chips out there, it might be possible to identify them;
1.) Burt colors are slightly different that Paul-son colors.
2.) Paul-son also had some inserts shapes that Burt/ASM never had, such as the triangular inserts found on most Atlantic City ROULETTE chips.
3.) Burt produced TH&C Mold (and late Diamond Mold) chips are slightly wider in diameter than Paulson produced chips. Roll a couple of Burt/Christy Jones LCV THC chips next to Paulson LVC chips and you will immediately see the difference between them. I suspect that might be true of the ROULETTE chips if Burt ever produced them.

#3 may be the easiest way to identify who made the those chips.
