My wife and I just returned from a road trip through the Carolinas and West Virginia. I happened upon a Harley chip with a strange black shield where a depressed shield should be. It appears there was a break in the orange insert and the black material ran in and filled the depressed area. I really don't know much about how these chips are molded. But then again, maybe this is a Willie Wonka type thing and the person who finds it wins a new bike. I saw others of this color combination but, only one with the black shield.??????
