Yes wine will go bad if not treated properly. But I think the only thing that can happen to whiskey is that if there is any type of leak some of the alcohol will evaporate. I have seen old bottles of booze that are about 1" lower in level than they should be. But the liquor inside is still good. Right now I an drinking a bottle of Jack Daniels that has a bottle date of 1972 on it. grin I also recently bought a bottle of 1978 Mouton-Cadet Bordeaux at an estate sale but am not sure if it is spoiled or not. Don't know whether to sell it or drink it.
