Same story with some of the very old wines...

... that have been auctioned over the years... if they've been subjected to fluctuating temperatures or even the slightest
crack in the seal, the wine within is often oxidized and undrinkable... I remember reading about a bottle of vintage wine
said to be from Thomas Jefferson's cellar that was purchased at auction - opened - and reported to taste a bit like vinegar...
imagine the disappointment!
