class action lawsuit

Some sellers are considering a class action suit. Because the terms & conditions allow Ebay to designate payment methods (remember when they eliminated cash and required PayPal?), and each seller's damages are limited to the fractional missed opportunity of possessing the money for a couple days (Ebay will make money off the float, constituting unjust enrichment under the lawyers' theory) the lawyers see it as a longshot and have requested $75,000 up front to cover costs, and additional security once that account is down to $10,000.

The "named plaintiffs" (the sellers who would represent the class's interests) have still not decided whether they will be able to fund this litigation.

If it goes through, you will get a notice from the court. If you can contribute to the costs up front, feel free to let me know and I will pass your information along to the lawyers.

I am a lawyer but I don't handle these types of cases and do not anticipate getting involved.
