After I removed the vent plates myself before the painter arrived (I didn't want to go that high), I asked him if he was familiar with these eyeballs and knew how to remove the trim which were only spring latched. He said no problem... and I went to the other end of the house to finish regrouting in the shower and other repairs out in the back of the house. When I returned to the family room I notice he went right over the trim with a roller and, if I ever have to remove that trim for any reason, it's not going to be fun.
