Re: Question for Ron Leis
In Response To: Question for Ron Leis ()

I knew a Mathew who played heavy in Roulette, who was involved with some gaming operations, not a Mike L.
Never saw Fitz really hawking Roulette or sweating any money. He would have 10 dice on each crap game and changed
them but twice a year. In my younger time with him a guy walks in one night and asks to play 10k on the pass line, wanted double odds
and place bets of 10 or 12k on the numbers.I had to wake Fitz to get an OK. He asked me if the guy had the cash and if it was real. Told him I had seen over 1/2
and it was real-he said book it and make the $100 chips a 1,000 and have him and you sign the agreement on the chips and roll them,I'll be down shortly.Guy put 10k
on the pass line rolled a 6 took 25k cash as odds and 52k across. Next number he rolled was a 7. We were still counting and checking the cash when Fitz got downstairs.
He said "good job" and went back upstairs.
Around 6 weeks later a guy is up 15K on a Crap table, Fitz asks me how it's going I said to him,Fitz I think we should change the dice on the tables they are almost round
and rolling for ever, He straighten up and looked me in the eyes and said," You F'en Dummy a few weeks ago you beat a guy for almost 100K" why change them now. Learned my lesson
and with the 261/2 years I spent in A/C I never did sweat the $$$.
Fitz's Sleepy doesn't sound like the same one. Sleepy use to spend12 hrs or better on the 2nd Floor across from the bar listening to short wave bringing in the sports scores and post them on the blackboard
posted on the wall, would have been on your right hand side heading for the down escalator. He also would book large bets with Fitz's approval,Fitz being the Book.
