The physical hands-on presence of the printed magazine is a tangible asset for the Club and it’s members. The physical magazine provides members with their very own “library” at home. Some articles deal with Conventions and “what’s happening now”, but most are dedicated to chips and casinos and their historical context. In a way, they are collectively, through the years, a representation of “gaming history” without having to go to a “museum”. Magazines from 10 years ago are still relevant today. The internet brings the world into your home and is great for a lot of things, but I like having a glossy, colorful magazine in my hands. It also makes me feel that I am physically connected in a way to the club. Online is fine, but nothing like going to the mailbox and finding a “present”. People love to get stuff and I love the surprise and excitement associated with receiving my physical copy. I also feel it gives members a great sense of value for the dues. It is tangible. It’s very classy and a status symbol to be proud of. I am in favor of keeping a printed magazine. No offense to anyone(because this is just my opinion), but I don’t agree that a black and white copy printed on cheap paper and stapled is acceptable. Just my $.02
