Chipguide Obsession....

With recent numerous posts obsessing on chipguide submissions and plucking scans from e-bay, an assumption has been made that e-bay sellers will be willing accomplices.

An alternative view...

When collectors find "rare" items and look on the chipguide for reference, i would posit that most make the following assumption...if it is not on the chipguide it must be scarcer, more obscure, and therefore, more valuable than an item already known, scanned, and MOGH exhibited.

If i were to have a table at a show and i displayed items familiar to the collecting world.....no big deal. Contrastingly, if i were to set up a table with a thousand items nobody has ever seen before, interest of collectors would be piqued, and the financial aspect increased greatly.

I love the MOGH, i refer to it almost daily, but for my own personal financial reasons, i would never submit an item. I sell weekly on e-bay as well, and if asked if my scan could be used for the chipguide, it would be a resounding "NO".
