Re: Promoting the Club (Social Media - Club Ads)

I don't know what the club budget is, or if any of it is earmarked for advertising and growing club membership directly, but it might be worth buying some very targeted ads on social media platforms.

It's my understanding that you can target by age, income, location, keywords that target searches they've recently done, and much more. The cost per exposure is pretty low, and of course the more targeted you make it, the cost goes up (I think) per exposure or thousands of exposures.

So, in addition to directly spending money on ads, it might be worthwhile to include an incentive to click the ad and sign up. As I suggested in another idea earlier, give them $5 (or more) off their first year's membership. Heck, give them half off or the whole first year for one stinkin' dollar. The idea is to get warm bodies to join, participate, and renew, right? I doubt the club will go broke, even if they gave away enough free memberships to double the overall membership in one year and only 25% remained for a 2nd paid year. But that's not my decision, obviously. Just a suggestion to consider.

If there isn't money in the coffers to buy our way to higher numbers, perhaps one or more beneficent members could contribute cash to a membership drive fund, and all sizeable donors to that fund share incentives from new members that join through their efforts. Could be a polo shirt or a hat or other merch from the store, special recognition pin, free table at the next convention, a meet and greet with Trump or Biden (just seeing if you're paying attention).
