The Monte Carlo of the West was the National Casin

o,
Opened around 1927 imitating in most aspects the Monaco Casino. It was partially demolished in the '30s to be replaced by the "Gran Casino Nacional" which lasted until early 1950's or late 40's, do not remember off hand (not home).

Their landmark was the fountain surrounded by muses which was later sold to the Tropicana. This Club later used its picture in their beautiful "fountain series".

In its early days the Casino Nacional (National Casino) was the largest and most elegant Casino in the Western Hemisphere".
