UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE - "slow but steady"
In Response To: The U.S. Mint uses . . . ()

I don't remember the last time I used FedX or UPS, only the incident I remember from Fed X - it was to a third world country - went through the process of paper works and proofs of the actual cost because I took insurance for the $1,000+ cost of the item. I came back home and went back to Fed X.

Charges here and there - including the box which I thought they are free. Then charges for their services of packaging and taping and the who thing, it was not cheap - the price of the box and the packaging. I was just talking to myself infront of the clerk - this is will the last time I will ever use Fed X.

Dec. 19 a Friday mailed Priority Box to Ohio with close to 100 foreign chips for a friend. With full insurance. Told by the clerk this will be there on Monday first thing in the morning, if it was okay for me. Very good so far.

Got email from Ohio worrying about the package, sent him scan copies of the receipts and insurance cost with the tracking # - came back with an email - on Wed Dec. after tracking the package - it was stuck in Memphis.

Thank God I did not cross my legs hoping that it is a short jump to his house - to our surprised it took thru Saturday for the package to be in his box.

Not bad at all, considering that it is the "busy time of the year" for the Postal Service.

I guess all of us has who buys, sells and trade chips goes thru this "ritual" or sort of "rite of chipping" experience.

Will not use UPS or Fed X for my mailing and shipment - will rely on the "steady.....but surely United States Postal Service".

Got some chips coming from the CIS and European countries - "DO NOT MAIL THIS MONTH THE PACKAGES, MAIL ONLY A WEEK AFTER 2014" hoping that it will get thru the "shuffles".
