PayPal policy updates - 180 days to dispute

Someone else mentioned a couple weeks ago that PayPal is updating its policies to allow buyers to challenge "item not received" and "not as described" for 180 days (currently it's 45 days). I just received my notification today, saying the change takes effect in mid-November.

This is very dangerous. I use delivery confirmation, and the post office usually gets it right and scans things. I am more concerned about the "not as described" loophole. Does it really take a customer half a year to figure this out???

PayPal and eBay are splitting into two companies. This could enable another company to jump in and make gains in the payment industry. I will continue with PayPal until I get burned on this new policy, and then I hope a new company is in place in time to allow a smooth conversion. Otherwise, I will look at processing credit cards through my local bank instead.
