BankNote of the Day- Combat Cash (Part I)

HAWAII

World War II brought about special issues of one-dollar bills in 1942. Special Silver Certificates were issued for Hawaii in case of a Japanese invasion. HAWAII was printed vertically on the left and right side of the obverse and also horizontally across the reverse. This series of emergency bills was printed with a brown seal instead of the usual blue seal on Silver Certificates. If these bills fell into enemy hands, they would have simply been demonetized and made worthless. ENJOY!!!
