Re: willmering illegals, Amarilli, tx

thanks for the info....yeah, I was in the One o One liquor store many times as a kid. I know that my uncles ran football cards and apparently lots of other things out of the Recreation Club next door. My Uncle Jessee was still working there in the 70's when he got robbed and beaten in the store. He never really recovered....died not long after. His wife lived to be 100 years old. My uncle Clarence was the real money man....lived into his nineties and in his eighties survived a home invasion robbery where he was left tied up in the yard on Bowie Street. He was a tough old customer, but had a heart of gold. Same with my Uncle Jessee. They both loved sports, loved to hunt.

Funny thing about that neighborhood, it seemed just fine when I was a kid, but then I was usually hanging out there in the daytime.

I appreciate hearing the stories....keep them coming. I told my mother that I had seen the chips advertised on Ebay and she got a great laugh out of it. Says she remembers staying up late on Saturday night when she was a kid, figuring out the payoffs on the cards....
