not apple related...but you have my most sincere sympathy!

I won some money a week ago, so bought a laptop (I've wanted one for awhile). A couple of people said "Just go to Walmart and buy a wireless router...easy to install, and you'll be online in no time!" NOT . I put in the disc with the installation instructions...and it all went wrong from there . After being on the phone with Netgear for about an hour, and having no internet connection on anything, my husband finally took pity on me and said "Don't put yourself through any more grief. Just call Charter and have them come out and take care of it."

I haven't called 'em yet, but, geeeez...do they have to make this stuff so hard???
