I like the chip off of the gray background (B). I will sometimes make a circle crop and then in the inverse area will get rid of the background around the top and sides and leave a little of the shadow at the bottom. That works only if the chip was scanned on a white background to begin with. The shadow helps keep the dimension. In the attached photo I took your chip and added a drop shadow and pumped up the contrast a little. It makes a little difference.
