Of course it would be within reason to do the same thing for the remake of the movie (using real chips), as the $5 chips from the MGM, Bellagio and Mirage are far less expensive than the 1950's Sahara, Riviera, Desert Inn, Sands and Flamingo $5 chips!

Heck, I bet doing it with the $1, $5, $25 and $100 chips from all 3 would still be far less expensive!

But you are correct, principal photography only took place at the Riviera and Sands.
