Re: Post Office "may have to shut down... this win

Very sad.
They decided to move the local branch near work. Ever since they started their clean up, we have been getting returned mail dated 2007 and 2008. Some of our customers called and complained about receiving old invoices from years ago. I dont know where they "found" it all but it was significant. I am sorry but no way would that be acceptable in private industry. We also had hundreds of customers complain that they mailed payments to the lockbox in Texas in mid July and they didnt arrive until the second week in August. The Post Office claimed it was a mis-sort. In addition, the bubble mailer pricing seems to depend on which clerk you get at the counter and which post office you visit. And the clerks at my local post office seem miserable all the time and the lines are unbelievable. IMHO if they were run better, more people would use them. I used to ship all my packages through the USPS. Now, I drop most of them at Staples for UPS, which is cheaper and seems to get their quicker and I dont have to stand on line for 20 minutes.
