USPS is top heavy - more chiefs than indians

Don't blame the union for all the problems of the Post Office - I have spent hours mailing in the different Post Offices here in Las Vegas talking to the postal clerks who complain that according to their views - the Post Office is top heavy, more chiefs and less Indian - managers and supervisors - who comes in one hour or two hours late and go home early and in between goes to coffee break and gets lost in the office where is he supposed to be and gets hefty salary.

There is a need for management audit to determine the effectiveness, efficiently and economy of each unit but not a blanket and shotgun policy of outright closing - or no Saturday delivery.

Why not change the delivery system to private houses throughout the country by instituting the block by block or area or community mail stations that they are torturing the new development compared to "house to house delivery" in some areas. They can shorten the the mail carriers route by using a central distribution depot or centers already existing in many communities.

How many millions$$$ are they spending on that lousy advertising "it fits and it ship" - total waste of word and money "it fits it ship", so to promote the IFAIS they hide the regular "Priority Box" at the back or behind the counter while the "Flat Rate Box" are displayed prominently in front with face up - since they implemented this flat rate - I got tricked twice before I realized their scheme. I am sure there are others innocently paying more for now knowing the difference.

They say they are losing to the traditional mails due to emails - yet they are selling greeting cards and etc.....a contradiction?

Registered mails and packages are supposed to be delivered to our sub station - but in the last 7 years they have not delivered anything - the mail carriers simplify his job by - just writing on the notice that no body was home, creating another line in the Post Office for "notice" pickup. I went to the supervisor - she told me that write a letter to the head office - sure she is creating demand for paper, envelope and stamp, this is the Post Office by Russel between Durango and Rainbow. While in the Post Office at the corner of Pebble and Bermuda the other day - the supervisor acted a on similar problem on the spot by calling the mail carrier who service the area and even introduce him.

You drive to the Post Office, make a line for notice pickup and the clerk dissapear into the back room for at least 15 minutes again come to the window to double check and verify that the info are correct and check your ID - by the time she is walking to the back she meets and stop to talk and talk - "oh what a wonderful day - "I love my work but I hate my job". Finally a black clerk came to the window asked "May I help you" - I wrote the info that was in the notice and gave it to her and I said "where is the other clerk, went on break or went to hell? break I don't need, hell I want to go with her", she laughed and smiled. The second clerk came back with the package, made a second notice card for the record and then the first clerk showed up, "no wonder I could not find it because you got it".

I need the Post Office, I love the Post Office, but I hate the mismanagement of the Post Office.
