Re: ?? 2 Variations of the Same Chip ??

Did you know that I have a website devoted to crest a & seal chips as well as ivory chips? Some times you can answer your own question with a bit of effort.

Your particular chips are shown on this page:

http://www.oldpokerchips.com/NonNevada/Stagecoach.htm

USPC offered chips with round edges, square edges and knurled or reeded edges. Your two white chips simple come from different orders. Both are genuine. It is not clear which is older. One would assume the rounded edge chips are older as they appear that way. However, the squared edged chips could be the older chips.

Here is another example of square/round edged chips:

Most other round/square are also distinguished by the fact that one chip was made by USPC whereby the reorder was from the Burt company. If you have any questions on c&s, email me. I would be happy to help.

BTW, it is not clear to me why a custom made chip for a club would receive a Seymour code. I always thought that Coded chips were generics that anyone could purchase out of a catalog. I believe that the only 2 crest & seals that shoukld have a Seymour code is the Florida Palms and the Sailing Ship chips. I believe those chips were offere to the pubic in a catalog.
