I don't know how well it would work but according to Southwest ads if you could find a better rate then you could change your reservation, book the cheaper rate and maybe get a refund. But like I mentioned, I watched rates the last two years and they did nothing but go up. Remember that the convention ends up being in the peak season after school is out. Good luck in any case.
