Steve, You Are Correct, Be Careful

When I clean a chip, the very, very, very first thing that I do is figure out if the chip will be able to be cleaned without sustaining any damage. There are various reason that I will not clean a chip, one of them is that it is too "delicate". Another is that it is already damaged, like the inlay is lifting off. I will never ever clean a chip with a paper inlay. There are not many of these around, but you only have to clean one to know that the paper inlay will absolutely not tolerate any cleaning without being damaged.
