Re: Don, this is why I'm up so early

this morning. I just worked out my partners Yearly Plan D drug cost yesterday and its $4400. This includes the premium and deductible too. That donut hole is horrible, but that is not the biggest problem. The cost of some of these meds are horrible. I guess we can be lucky she got covered at all when GM dropped everyone under medicare. Her pre-exisiting condition still got her great medical coverage. This did come at a hefty price tag too. Here is what I'm talking about.

Plan D Choice

Total drug cost Out-of-pocket drug cost

$1,637.28 $1,220.56

$252.76 $126.38

$595.44 $297.72

$2,174.08 1,087.04

$635.00 $317.50

$232.44 $116.22

$74.48 $37.24

$862.36 $731.18

Total $6,463.83 $3,933.84(her cost)

Since these are all generics there is zero co-pay for mail order. BTW-she takes more then one pill a day for all the drugs. Each pill is counted for. Its not like a corp plan. The price is only for the drug cost not the monthly premium. The 2 most expensive drugs happen to be the most important drugs she needs. I hated to tell her what this is all costing us as she is already stressed out about this. Her illness is not getting better, so there really was no choice. This was the best we could do under the circumstance.

Thus the reason of selling my chips. Who knows what will happen with this health bill. Its a hard pill to swallow (no pun intended) for everyone. vbg

Such hypothetical remark adds nothing to debate.
What part was hypothetical? Me Agreeing with U?
Across party lines, government & over-spending
Thus the motion (push) to reform.
