A thought for the BOD?
In Response To: Your Collection Mortality.... ()

Have suggested several times to various officers that here in lies a service that the club could/should provide.
Make up a selected group of volunteers who would assist the surviors of CC>CC members in the disposition of a collection. Maybe a fee structure based on value, maybe just a service offered to members, but in any event only to members of the CC>CC.
We worry about membership. Instead of huge overrated projects we start by providing reasons for the average collector to join and retain membership. I am a life member of the APS and retain membership in same for the reason I know they will assist my heirs in the disposal of a fairly valuable stamp collection. Just put a provided sticker in the collection with there name, address, telephone number as who tocontact for assistance. That is one of many services they provide.Their membership is currently 37,581 with 133 new applicants this past month. What's ours?
