Most of our imploding dice are in a closed plastic box...though a few are on shelves (away from other dice). I just can't bring myself to just throw away stuff with a Nevada casino name on it... sighhhhh....

Did a quick google search on formaldehyde...just reading the little teasers that come up for each site, it would appear that formaldehyde is in beer, nail polish, diet coke, and who-knows-what-else--in addition to enbalming fluid. yuk. Hopefully at least some of that is urban legend.
