I agree but....
In Response To: I don't know of ()

No question in regards to foot traffic but I think that you have to look at revenues vs. rental costs. People on main street go there to shop. People don't come to casinos to shop, well everyone except my wife that is grin
I would bet that a shop on main street pays less than a shop in one of the casinos.
Let's face it, though I'm not sure what retail space costs per square foot I'm relatively sure it's not cheap there
Looking at the Taj with which I'm quite familiar as you know, I see a huge turnover in retail space. Many of the prime spaces there are now occupied by Taj run entities. A perfect example is the Taj shop which was once Tiffany's

I think in places like the casinos, big brand names like to keep a presence for prestige purposes more than anything else. I rarely see more than a few people in any of these ritzy shops.
They can offset which most likely are losses through revenues from their other outlets but at some point they too say it's time to cut bait.

Walking down the corridor of the Taj on the CF level going towards Resorts it seems that they are now going to open a UPS store there.
The sense of that I have yet to figure out. Wonder if it will still be there on my next visit.
