Bob, in answer to your question, it was Willaim Shakespeare who wrote that. It is line of dialogue frequently quoted out of context to suggest the exact opposite of what Shakespeare intended. In the pertinent scene, several anarchist conspirators are plotting the overthrow of law and order in their society. One character asks, "How shall we do it?", another answers him, "First lets kill all the lawyers". While old Willie intended to make the point that lawyers were the guardians of law and order which could never be compromised as long as one lawyer was alive to man the ramparts of justice and freedom, it has now become a catch phrase to dump on many good and honorable people. It is a sad commentary of our times. BTW Bob, I know that is not what you intended. Be well.
