NCR (very): Consumer electronics question

This has nothing to do with chips, but I figured I'd ask here since there some bright folks who read this board.

I'm looking for a small, bookshelf type stereo or boombox with a USB port that will allow me to plug in an external hard drive and play MP3's stored there. There are several around (Philips, JVC), but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with trying to do this. Some seem to limit the number of files to 400 or 999 and I'm looking for something that can handle more files.

This is for my office at work, so I want something to stand alone and not be connected to a PC or use wireless streaming from the PC. I just want to load the hard drive up with a few thousand songs and let them play randomly.
