Re: Thoughts on Values
In Response To: Re: Thoughts on Values ()

Being an avid buyer of currency I found just the oposite regarding currency. Ebay sales are normally always over book value and dealers (with high volume) prices are the lowest and most consistant. I thought it odd the two (chips and currency) were so opposite.

I am not sure which of the two are the MORE informed buyers or if they are both equal. I know there are a lot of dealers (currency) on eBay, but when using Ebay the (final) buyer sets the price not the dealer. I am sure there is a lot of impulse and novelty buying on hot areas in the world (Iraq, Beijing, etc) but that only accounts fro but a fraction of sales I am sure.

Also I would think the supply would be larger on currency than chips causing the chips to command more over reference values. But all in all book values are just that reference values as there are too many variables thrown in the mix as stated earlier. Just my 2ยข
