The chips are porous so I think the Lucite will be totally bonded with the chip. I always suspected that a clever person with a numerical controlled machining device could mill the Lucite down to the surface of the chip but it still would not "feel" right. Besides, its part of my wife's "Chips in Lucite" collection so I wouoldn't be allowed to mess with it anyway....
