When I was about ten years old my father and I were driving downtown I noticed the initials BPOE on the side of a downtown business. I ask what the initials stood for and he very quickly and forcefully stated "Biggest Pricks on Earth" I thought why would anyone put that up there. Thirty or forty years later he related a problem whereas he didn't like the outcome of a meeting with the Elks. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion.
