Ivory chips originally carved in the 1800s have been recarved in the late 1800s early 1900s. Rims have been reinked in the late 1800s, early 1900s.

Of course it is deficult to define what is a "fake" (recreation) and what is an antique recarving.

All I am trying to say is that the seller is making these chips TODAY! A hundred years from now there may be a collectible value. However even a 100 years from now a close inspection would reveal that they weren't carved by the original carvers of the 19th century.

Now if someone wants to buy them, go ahead. Heck, I should feel honored. He ripped off some of his designs from my website (as only I and one other had the original chips). I do know that the people I know that I have talked with were none too happy when they realized what they purchased.

I'm done. I've said all I could. This is my last post on thread.
