if you need that ncv so bad, buy it from someone. is $10 in scrip that valuable? are the dealers going to sell out in 1 hour - if so, why is the convention longer than 1 hour? if these inducements to get someone to stay at the convention hotel are that valuable to you, stay in the hotel. otherwise, you lose nothing. they are bonuses to those who are paying so much to support the club. to those who do not support the club in that way, nothing is lost. no one is being penalized.

someone is only being penalized if it is not POSSIBLE to gain these inducements. since you have the right and ability to stay at the convention hotel even if you live close by, you lose nothing since you gave nothing.
