Asbury Park is still pretty shabby in some parts of town Bill. The Boardwalk and the area around Convention Hall seem to be the biggest concentration of major improvements.

Yes, I remember well Palisades Park and Olympic Park and Steeplechase Pier. My Mom and Dad used to take me and my younger brother to those amusement centers at least once or twice every summer ... and to Coney Island as well. Growing up in Central Jersey through high school years; ... Keansburg, Highlands, Sea Bright and Asbury Park were my favorite hang-outs. Later on, raising our own family and moving to Brick, NJ on the Jersey Shore ... our three kids enjoyed nearby Belmar, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach and Seaside Heights! Fun times; good memories!
