if you have PayPal, write a letter

I have written an e-mail to the PayPal customer service suggesting that they give us the option of deleting delivery confirmation. That is what kicks a 2 or 3 ounce envelope up to the priority mail rate - a jump of more than $3. A lot of sellers have been sending flats at the parcel rate, but if their customers all start getting postage due notices as the post office realizes this goldmine, sellers - and PayPal's service - could start looking bad.

I asked them to offer us the option of deleting delivery confirmation (as well as offering "flats" rates).

Other PayPal customers shoiuld also write and request greater felxibility.

If enough PayPal customers write, maybe they'll consider a change. If only I write, I know the response I'll receive: "Dear Valued Customer. Delivery confirmation is an excellent way to assure that your customer has actually received the package you mailed. It is free when you purchase priority mail, and only 18 cents when you purchase other services. These reflect a discount from the rate charged if you purchase delivery confirmation at a post office's clerk counter. Thank you and have a happy day!"

Of course, it isn't free and it isn't 18 cents. It costs more than $3 by kicking the envelope up to a higher rate.

We need to request more options when it comes to delivery confirmation.
