Here's my take on club membership (for John Benedict's question as well). A CC & GTCC member (to me) is equivalent to Good Housekeeping's Seal of Approval. When I ran my A.C. new issues service (over 150 subscribers), I ALWAYS sent chips to club members before receiving payment ... some packages were for a couple hundred dollars each. Never did I require payment up front. Yes, I got taken by a few stinkers ... who got me for one or two mailings... but never again. However, I would not do that with a non-club member whom I did not know.

No, I'm not saying that all club members are honest ... or that non-club members are dishonest, it's just the way I did business.... and that's the same choice that some members choose to do on this private message board when they run THEIR contests. "

Umm...what dog? Are you confusing me with someone else? I do not own nor have I ever owned a dog.

I also mail out any trades to anyone before receiving whatever from them. I always insist on anyone taking my check to hold it until it clears (although most never do and I have never had a problem). No argument there either. I have never had a bad experience. . In a very short time, under 2 mo, I have successfully traded with or purchased chips from over 40 club members. I had never heard anything but good comments from anyone (although I did short-postage one person by mistake, but I am making up for that 18 cent mistake!)

I also agree and have posted as such that members can and SHOULD run their contests as they want. Again, complete agreement.

Are you sure these arguments are directed at me Archie? I see nothing in anything I have ever posted that disagrees with anything you just posted.
