to interest the ivory collectors into pooling our suspected (and real) fakes and reproductions and putting up a display at our convention. I own six repros...in each case but my last purchase I knew them to be fakes and labeled them as such. The last purchase was from the principle present creator of the modern repros after I thought he had assured me the two chips were originals...they weren't.

The problem with buying and collecting the repros is that while I would never pass them on as originals and have properly labeled them as such, when I die and my collection is sold I no longer can control what my kids or an estate rep might do with them. They can get into the mainstream as originals.
