Gene can add to this if he wishes

I will be very brief as it is late here grin

Borland was a very early club member.
The club was small when the chips in question were made 16 years ago. The 1st convention hadnt even been thought of grin
Borland made and sold the chips openly. He sold them as 'counterfeits', 'copies', 'fantasy', whatever you like to call them. He advertised them correctly.
The problem lay with the dealers that bought his chips and sold them as genuine. Many did it, some still do.
When Borland passed away, his inventory was inherited by his partner Jerry Wall. 6 years ago, Jerry sold everything to GGS.
Shortly after that, a club member walked into GGS and bought all that was left. Approx 600,000 chips. The Wall 'inventory' was documented. I have seen the whole lot.
Borlands records were part of Walls inventory. GGS did not want to pay for them. They were offered to the club and to a couple of dealers/collectors. None would come up with the $1500 or whatever asking price. This was just before my time. If I had been around I would have been on the next plane out with a pocket full of cash.
The records went back to Jerry Wall, and as far as we have been able to ascertain (from his daughter) they were destroyed.
