Re: ANA Magazine Gambling Article

Dear Don,

Thank you for participating in our auctions. It was a pleasure serving you, and the others that won. The House, & Baccarat cheques were in top condition. I have always taken good care of my gaming material. After 20, to 30 years these interesting little things can become valuable investments.

The European material is interesting. I know of 5 H, & C’s in Las Vegas that used the acrylic style B et G material. The Sands started it in October of 1961. Then the Sahara, MGM, Paris, and finally the London Club, of the Aladdin. Caesars World of A.C also used this material in the main baccarat pits. There is only one casino that I know of that is currently using the acrylic stuff. That is the Eldorado Club, in Reno.

I have gathered from my colleges in the Gaming Industry; that this material is cumbersome, and slows the game. The percentage remains the same, but the drop is off.

A European baccarat game using the B et G acrylic style tokens, is still beautiful. A French roulette table is something to see. Although B et G is still a major supplier of gaming tokens, it’s primary client base is Europe. Even here we see less of the lightweight acrylic style material, and more conventional style chips.

American casinos are the most profitable in the world. We keep those cards dealt, the wheel spinning, and the dice in the air. It is only my opinion, but it seems casinos worldwide are mimicking the American ways. They work, and profits are higher.

*AN ALTERNATIVE USE

The photos you see are being shot again next month. I am getting companies that want to sell everything from Bling Bling, to Alcohol. Professional photography is something I new little about. It seems my new clients are interested in these re-creations. This adventure is not easy for me. I know gaming, and chips. They don’t. Hollywood, and Madison Avenue, is much more focused illusions of reality. I have real props, and they can’t get them, so we have an interesting relationship.

I never thought of using this material in this fashion. Leave it to marketing people to dream up this one. I have had offers to buy me out, but I am having too much fun. As we acquire new magazine photos, I will post them to our web address, and “Myspace”, I have included that link. I have learned to get a few “stock images” from the photographers, and will share them with the world.

Thank you,

Respectfully,

R. Anthony Valvo
